Fulcrum, the leading independent utility connections provider, today unveiled a major website overhaul for www.fulcrum.co.uk designed to put professional developers, construction firms and utility connection specifiers just a click away from the technical information they need whether one the move, in the field or at the office.
The new site follows intensive customer research by Fulcrum which shows growing demand for rich technical information configured to be easily accessible from an increasing range of hand-held devices, including mobile smart-phones and tablets as well as office desktops and laptops.
“The previous incarnation of our website was tremendously successful, introducing online requests and generating £3.6million of online orders in the last financial year. It set new standards for our sector – but the new site is genuinely groundbreaking in terms of content geared to knowledgeable customers wanting technical background and navigation relevant to the new breed of mobile devices now in everyday use,” said Fulcrum’s Sales Director, Paul Waite.
Fulcrum’s survey of the evolving use of online information by utility professionals drew responses from over 50 per cent of the UK’s Top 20 housebuilders and 60 per cent of the UK’s Top 20 construction businesses.
The findings show all client groups now make heavy use of the Internet to source information on prospective utility infrastructure providers – with the web being the principal information source for residential house builders and commercial developers and a primary information source for intermediaries.
“Our new website talks the language of utility professions and goes deeper in terms of technical content and utility solution detail, yet makes for a simple and quick user journey,” said Craig Baugh, Fulcrum’s Marketing Manager.
The new website, expected to increase online orders, is backed by new levels of direct design and consultancy support, ensuring clients are readily able to gain additional information from Fulcrum’s design experts.
