Fulcrum, the UK’s market leading independent multi-utility infrastructure and services provider, is investing in a new depot, delivery teams and vehicle fleet to serve the South East and London in support of its strategy to increase its direct-delivery workforce and reduce the use of sub-contractors in the region.
Having already successfully established directly employed, multi-utility engineering teams in the north and central England, Scotland and Wales, the Sheffield-based company is extending its direct delivery service model to the South East, to provide enhanced levels of service to new and existing customers.
The company will mobilise additional multi-utility teams in the area, each consisting of highly experienced engineers in the delivery of gas, electricity and water infrastructure projects.
Based in Hertfordshire, the new depot will become operational in October. The new facility, workforce and vehicle fleet will allow Fulcrum to directly deliver utility infrastructure across an area stretching from London and the surrounding counties to the south coast.
The decision to extend the direct delivery model follows its contribution to the Groups growth and improvements in customer satisfaction.
Terry Dugdale, Chief Operating Officer at Fulcrum, said: “Having a directly employed workforce supporting infrastructure projects in the South East is part of our strategy to ensure we remain agile and responsive to customer requirements.
“Our direct delivery model is well proven in other areas of the UK and has led to achieving consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
“Through continued investments in people, technology and working practices, Fulcrum is well-positioned to meet the UK’s evolving utility infrastructure requirements for new housing, commercial and industrial developments.”
